چکیده
ing a mixture of carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements (1). Liver carcinosarcomas are classified as two types including sarcomatoid hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma. A sarcomatoid HCC is a carcinoma that most resembles a sarcoma found in the liver. Only a few cases of intrahepatic sarcomatoid cholangiocarcinomas have been reported (1-6). To the best of our knowledge, an intrahepatic sarcomatous cholangiocarcinoma with portal vein thrombosis had not been reported. We report here the first case of a sarcomatoid cholangiocarcinoma with portal vein thrombosis in the English language literature. Case Report

Spontaneous rupture of intrahepatic bile duct following portal vein embolization in a patient with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma: a case of successful curative resection
We herein present a case of spontaneous rupture of intrahepatic bile duct in a patient with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma, which were successfully treated by curative resection. A 60-year-old male patient with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma was decompressed with single percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage. Two days after right portal vein embolization, the patient suffered from paralytic ile...

We report a case of Trousseau's syndrome with cholangiocarcinoma complicated by a fatal pulmonary embolism after liver biopsy. A 69-year-old man who presented with right upper quadrant pain was found to have portal vein thrombosis and nonspecific liver hypodensities after imaging by computerized tomography. Following four days of anticoagulation, heparin was held for percutaneous liver biopsy. ...
متن کاملAllograft inflow - concern in liver transplantation after intraoperative radiotherapy for cholangiocarcinoma.
UNLABELLED Patients who underwent local radiotherapy during surgical resection for cholangiocarcinoma are at increased risk of developing extensive thrombosis of splanchnic vessels and secondary biliary cirrhosis on the remnant liver; hence they become liver transplantation candidates. In these recipients, adequate graft inflow cannot be provided by conventional liver transplantation procedures...
متن کاملSelective hypertrophy of the lobus caudatus as a novel approach enabling extended right hepatectomy in the presence of a non-perfused left lateral liver lobe
INTRODUCTION Portal vein embolization (PVE) is a well-established technique to enhance functional hepatic reserves of segments II and III before curative extended right hepatectomy for tumors of the right liver lobe. However, an adequate hepatopetal flow of the left lateral portal vein branches is required for a sufficient PVE-associated hypertrophy. CASE REPORT Here, we report a 65-year old ...
متن کاملRobotic-assisted right hepatectomy via anterior approach for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
Major hepatic resection, especially right hepatectomy, has been successfully performed by specialized hepatobiliary centers using the robotic platform with low morbidity, conversion rates and outcomes comparable to laparoscopic and open surgery. The authors report a case of robotic-assisted right hepatectomy done for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma using anterior approach, after right portal ve...
